The year 2022 witnessed some fantastic, and many drab looks walking the red carpet. From film promotions to award shows, celebrities thought they brought their A-game, but bursted that bubble themselves. With the biggest of appearances this year that ranged from the Cannes Film Festival to fashion weeks, every star was dressed to stand out. But sadly, some experiments didn’t land well. Hence, we are looking back at some of the worst style moments of the year 2022.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan At Cannes
Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s visit to Cannes this year was a mix of great, and some not-so-lovely looks. For one of the grand red carpet walks, Rai turned muse to Dolce And Gabbana in a dreamy gown. But sadly, the Disney cut looked more like a barbie doll cake, decorated with flowers, and a heavy flounce. Soon, Rai’s look for the evening became a meme, and the rest is history.

Deepika Padukone’s Love For LV
Deepika Padukone’s juror-special closet at this year’s Cannes Film Festival was excellent, but one outfit, in particular, was like a thorn in our eyes. In one of her first grand, custom Louis Vuitton looks, Padukone picked a brocade silk number, with dramatic, feathered sleeves. The ensemble on Padukone wasn’t the best-styled number on her.

Kim Kardashian Braving The Balenciaga Look
Back in the month of March, Kim Kardashian arrived for the Paris Fashion Week, in a duct-tape catsuit by Balenciaga. Kardashian’s monogrammed look in yellow was a version of the ‘caution tape’ and was styled using the brand’s famous hourglass bag. But unfortunately, this experiment neither made a fashion statement nor allowed Kim to even walk straight. All it gave her was a bag full of memes.

Ananya Being A Victim To The Windy Weather
Besides putting your personality on display, clothes also serve the important purpose of keeping you protected. This purpose is what celebrities often brush under the carpet, for the sake of style. But a windy day schooled actress Ananya Panday, as she stepped out in a strapless bandeau, and quirky pants to promote her film–Gehraiyaan. During the press tour, the actress was captured shivering in her look, as co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi ran to comfort her with his blazer. The lesson was that season-appropriate dressing is an important box to tick off, while styling a look.

Disha Patani’s K-Pop Fad
During the promotions of her film Ek Villain Returns, actress Disha Patani displayed a new side to her evolved style. Seeking inspiration from artists of Korean pop bands, the actress styled herself in a multitude of tutu dresses, ribbon-laden pigtails, corsets-met-cargo pants, and heart-shaped blouses. Reminding us of a schoolgirl.

Kylie Jenner Entering Her Anjali Era
Beauty mogul–Kylie Jenner joined her Jenner/Kardashian clan at this year’s Met Gala in her version of a bridal look. The ensemble on the youngest Jenner was straight off the runway by Off-White. Bringing streetwear’s favourite baseball cap with a half-veil, Kylie came dressed in a bridal white gown and ear danglers. But sadly, the look wasn’t a winner on Jenner and became a victim of a million memes.

Deepika Being A Red Riding Hood
While we always wait for each of Deepika’s airport appearances, because they’re simply fab, one look had us questioning, “Why DP, why?” Back in the month of March, Deepika left for Spain in a spicy, head-to-toe red look. The ensemble by Adidas X Ivy Park, coupled with a red Louis Vuitton bag featured a turtle neck jumper, latex pants, pink heels, and a red cap. While we enjoy looking at DP’s love for monochromatic pairings, this just did not fit right. And of course, the internet compared her to the Zomato uniform, followed by a meme fest.

Malaika Arora’s Bolly Party Look
Another of this year’s worst style moments was brought to our screens by actress Malaika Arora. Attending Karan Johar’s 50th birthday bash, Arora joined her girl gang in a traffic-stopping, green ensemble. The short suit in satin green was weirdly styled using a pale pink bustier, a silver neckpiece, fuchsia pink platform heels, and a silver mini bag. The colour fest and fabric play didn’t work in favour of the actress and failed to appeal to the internet.

Sara Ali Khan’s Red Shoot
Just recently, actress Sara Ali Khan shared a bunch of new pictures on her Instagram handle, wearing a red skirt set. Besides posing by a red fire-water pump, Sara wore a striking red David Koma skirt and coupled it with an embellished, off-shoulder bodycon. Julia Fox And The Villain Era
After her split from Kanye West, Julia unleashed a new side to herself, and officially entered the villain era. From bold stroke eyeliners to slim-fit leather dresses, the model/actress made a statement at every awards night, and sometimes while taking a stroll in the city. But a few pieces from her elaborate leather collection included this extreme cut-out skirt set, which I am sorry Ms Fox, but Uorfi’s already styled and aced. Another of her borderline bizarre look was the horse back attire. The look created a lot of buzz amongst her fans.
