Actor Vijay Varma is successfully serving on the red carpet at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. For his debut appearance, Varma is experimenting with a bundle of unique Indian silhouettes, curated and reimagined by Indian designers. With that, he is keeping it simple with classics like black and white, and playing around textures. Dhoti-The It Clothing
Taking dhoti to the world stage, the actor was seen wearing one on his first day at the film festival. The pictures from Cannes 2023 featured Vijay in a long black kurta, teamed with a heavily draped dhoti of the same shade. With pockets in front and dainty front-open button closures, the actor served minimal glam and represented India’s legacy in fashion through his first look. He further sealed it all with a pair of black sunglasses and formal shoes.

A Delightful White
Joining Indian celebrities like Sara Ali Khan and Guneet Monga at the Indian Pavilion Inauguration at Cannes this year, Varma matched his fellow guests in a head-to-toe white look. Playing with power dressing and prints, Vijay was seen wearing a pearl-hued, sheen satin blazer, layered over an interestingly tailored kurta, with a front fabric overlap detailing. He further completed the look with some colour on his wide-legged pants, added through a patch of print.

The Red Carpet Moment
For the big red carpet appearance, Varma trusted Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, and the shade black. Staying away from fancy experiments, Varma picked a crisp black suit. Incorporating a black shirt, blazer and a pair of pants, Varma accessorised the look with a little dragonfly brooch by Amrapali Jewels and a fluffy black bowtie.
