Mrunal Thakur Romances The Saree For A Stunning New Cannes 2023 Look

Mrunal Thakur has finally graced our screens from a beautiful morning at the Cannes Film Festival. The star, woke up glowing in a saree, custom-designed by Indian designer duo–Falguni Shane Peacock. The sorbet-hued, blush lilac number is a two-way drape, embellished with crystals and diamond details.

In pictures from the red carpet, Mrunal channels the desi girl in her, with the India popular saree silhouette. Giving it a touch of modernity and elegance, Thakur and FSP worked around its structure, with a front pleated panel in the centre, a sexy two pallu detailing, a low-neck blouse and a long-trailing pallu. Accentuating her curves, the geometric embroidery work on the fabric is actualised with heavy beadwork, silver katdana and pearls. Holding the pleats together is an embellished brooch that adds a sense of quiet luxury to the entire look.

For accessories, Thakur chose to wear a pair of Outhouse Jewellery, pearl and silver earrings, matching the mood of the saree embroidery. Styled by Rahul Vijay, Thakur went easy with her messy tresses and defined her eyes with intense smokey eyes. She also ditched a bold coloured lip shade, to allow her saree to take centerstage. What we love about her ensemble, is not just her choice of an Indian designer house, but her twist to the beloved saree, which pays homage to India on a global stage.
