Celebrities have already made their way to Italy for this year’s prestigious Venice Film Festival. Parading on the red carpet, stars from Timothée Chalamet, and Sydney Sweeney to Jodie Turner-Smith have put their sartorial excellence on display with a wide variety of statement looks in place. Besides film screenings and promotions, Hollywood’s A-listers have contributed to the buzz around the year’s favourite style trends and movies that their fans are eager to set their eyes on. And while we are in awe of every look that walked the carpet, here’s a list of our favourite starry appearances, so far.

Jodie Turner-Smith

British actress/model, Jodie Turner-Smith has made sure her suitcases are packed with only the best. Both at the airport  and the red carpet, Jodie’s collection deserves applause. From a blue Balmain gown to the electric fringe-adorned Raisa Vanessa dress, Jodie’s attires spoke volumes and a lot about her current OTT mood. Besides each of these, our favourite and the most unique piece to walk the carpet was designer Christopher John Rogers’ abstract crayon-printed twill gown. Jodie brilliantly teamed the look with a traditional, gemstone-encrusted choker and a matching pair of earrings from Bulgari.

Sydney Sweeney

Our beloved Euphoria star seemed to have loaned some style inspiration from her onscreen best friend–Maddy, to channel an old-school Hollywood glamour at the film festival. For day one, Sydney turned to Giorgio Armani to dress her up for the evening. For the Bones And All red carpet, Sydney wore a blend of velvet and silk/satin, in the evergreen mix of navy and black. The form-fitting gown featured a black strapless silhouette, adorned with a navy bow accent just above the bust. She further completed her ensemble with a matching hair bow and chose Armani beauty for the minimal, dewy look. For day 2, Sweeney appeared in a fiery red Armani gown, with a ruffle-decorated waist and voluminous curls.

Sadie Sink

The Stranger Things alum arrived for the 79th Venice Film Festival in a variety of looks, but what stole our attention is this Alexander McQueen attire. At the world premiere of The Whale, Sadie turned heads in a dusky blue gown from the designer’s Pre-Season 2023 collection. The semi-ruffle tulle gown featured a cutaway waist decorated with crystal embroidery. Sadie completed the look with her honey brown tresses, styled into dreamy long curls and a finger ring, doing the duties of accessories in the look.

Timothée Chalamet

Actor Timothée Chalamet served the brightest and most loved looks of the year, at the Venice Film Festival. Dancing to the tunes of actor Brad Pitt’s kilt serve at the Bullet Train premiere, Timothée Chalamet too slid into Celine camo shorts, which appeared to be a skirt. Besides his daring first look at this year’s festival, our dearest Tim added ‘most’ to his list of surprising sartorial visits on the red carpet, with a backless look, curated by designer–Haider Ackermann. The Dune star’s all-red attire, featured an extreme, cowl-neckline blouse, with a front, tie-up detailing and a pair of pencil pants in the same shade, matched with silver jewels. The backless design was a brilliant new look for the actor and we think it had many hearts racing!

Penelope Cruz

The Spanish star’s red carpet arrival made sure, all eyes were on her. Penelope trusted Chanel to dress herself up for the premiere of L’Immensità. The black and pink themed attire exhibited a sequinned leaf overlay in the latter hue, on a classic, black lace background. To complete the ensemble, the actress added a sparkling diamond neckpiece and a pair of matching earrings. For L’Immensità photocall too, Cruz settled for a Chanel, Monaco-Inspired, flag-print maxi dress, with a cross-strap halter neckline. She completed the look with the designer house’s flap bag and gold hoop earrings.

Simone Ashley

Our beloved Bridgerton star turned guest to designer Giorgio Armani, in the label’s vintage, burning red attire. The strapless flap top featured a draped back, and a slim-fitting skirt from Armani Prevé’s Spring 2013 collection. For the Armani dinner at the film festival, Simone chose to wear a monochrome gown, featuring a white silk flap, decorating the strapless neckline and a button accent. Ashley further completed the look with diamond jewels and hair styled into open curls.

Charithra Chandran

Accompanying her d(ee)di to the Armani dinner party, actress Charithra Chandran arrived in a vintage Armani silk/satin gown in scintillating champagne colour. The form-fitting gown came straight from Prive 2005 Fall Couture collection. The Bridgerton 2 star teamed the look with rhinestone-decorated, half-veil and diamond ear studs.

Tessa Thompson

Actress Tessa Thompson rekindled our love for hooded couture in designer Elie Saab’s Fall Winter 2022-23, haute couture gown. The monumental, drape gown on Tessa featured an intricately pleated skirt, a one-shouldered bodice and a massive, twisted veil on the head. She matched the look with red stalkings, a pair of red heels and a matching box bag. Her next look in line was brought to our screens by designer–Giorgio Armani. The silver, metallic strapless gown incorporated a conceptual bodice that ended in an open-lotus silhouette and came attached to a black skirt. Tessa paired the attire with cat-eye, sunglasses, crystal chain choker and hair sealed at the back.

Taylor Russell

Canadian actress– Taylor Russell trusted Balenciaga’s classic green gown worn by Bella Hadid at the latest couture fashion week in Paris. The jewel-toned green, puffed bustle gown on Taylor exhibited a satin bow accent in the front and a taffeta-esqué fall. Replacing the black gloves from the original runway look, Taylor slid into a neat, white pair and chose to to wear black, pump heels to finish off the look.
