The Best Looks From London Fashion Week

Close on the heels of New York Fashion Week comes the much-anticipated London Fashion Week. And with the couture craze making its way to the English capital, the expectations from the design giants were pretty high and boy, did they deliver. From reimagining Victorian lace and grandma florals to churnin’ out space-inspired futuristic silhouettes, there was no dearth of innovation at London’s Spring/Summer 2020 fashion presentations. We give you a low-down of all the looks at London Fashion Week that caught our eye and are definitely giving us some major fashion inspiration for the season ahead.

 

16Arlington

16Arlington’s show was all about slinky silhouettes and fabrics, and we took an instant shine to this futuristic number which was a crossover between a bodysuit and a romper. Brownie points for the giant collars.

 

Gayeon Lee

Solid pastel shades and colour-blocking ruled throughout Gayeon Lee’s Spring/Summer collection. Whoever said that you can’t wear jackets during summer has been proven wrong, yet again.

 

Temperley London

The whimsical designs at Temperley London’s showcase which took place at their new store were all sorts of dreamy. Think dainty frills, floral prints and ruffles that made their presence felt throughout the collection. This summery peach dress with an illusion neckline was one of our favourites.

 

Marques Almeida

Marques Almeida’s edgy collection came with artfully deconstructed outfits like this plaid and graphic print combo one-shoulder dress. It struck that perfect balance between contemporary cuts and abstract patterns.

 

Molly Goddard

The queen of frills and tulle didn’t disappoint, as usual. Case in point is this giant poofy dress that went instantly viral on social media. We are calling this tiered number the tiered cake dress because of, well, obvious reasons.

 

Halpern

Halpern proved that animal prints are here to stay for good with this balloon dress that was accessorised with leopard print tights and matching sandals. Rawr.

 

Preen

Giving Victorian lace quite the sexy upgrade was Preen. Called the ‘Cora’, this lacy dress used sheer elements and romantic lilac-coloured lace. The entire look was elevated with the ballet flats paired with it.

 

Roland Mouret

Think the weather won’t let you rock a suit in the summer? Think again because Roland Mouret’s relaxed silhouettes prove that you can stay cool and look like you mean business.

 

Victoria Beckham

If you have been craving  a punch of colour then look no further than Victoria Beckham who decided to break away from her love for monochrome this season. This billowy green dress with a deep neckline is what we want to live in all summer long.

 

Emilia Wickstead

Kate Middleton’s designer of choice, Emilia Wickstead’s collection boasted of sleek and sharp tailoring. The show started off with pretty pastels and gradually transitioned into darker shades before Wickstead brought out her take on the gingham in the form of jumpsuits and co-ords.

 

Simone Rocha

We like to call this look ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ because check out that drop waist. The entire look screams exaggeration and we are in love with the dramatic balloon sleeves.

 

Erdem

If a suit and a sari were to have a love child, we’d imagine it to look something like this and we are definitely not averse to it. The playful polka dot pattern cuts through the seriousness of the suit and gives it a super-fun look.

 

JW Anderson

Cow print never looked this chic and the infinity loop around the chest which was present on multiple outfits throughout the show made for a quirky yet cool look. And we can’t take our eyes off of the bejewelled waist belt. We’d take 10 of those, thank you!

 

Christopher Kane

Space but make it ‘fashun’ was the mantra at Christopher Kane’s show. Using various elements from the galaxy, the designer successfully combined contemporary prints with relaxed silhouettes.

 

Burberry

London Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without Burberry’s showcase. What caught our eye from the variety of designs was Riccardo Tisci’s lacey number which looks like an upworked version of a baptism outfit. And it has our full support because we are game to wear this anywhere.
