Sonam Kapoor has been redefining maternity wear, one picture at a time. From draping the most spectacular sarees to slipping into the comfiest summer dresses, Sonam has been wearing her mind during this beautiful phase of her life. And as she celebrates her birthday today, the actress has blessed our screens with brand new pictures. And knowing Sonam, you know she’s aced it!
Dolled up by her favourite designer duo–Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Sonam has dished out another marvellous look and we think she surely looks like art here. She is dressed up in the duo’s long-trailing multi-panelled dress that features pearls embroidered in the shape of a wing. Sonam further paired it with the designers’ off-white chamois satin skirt adorned with pearls and sequins. Looking lovely as usual, Sonam chose to put her pregnant belly on display and experimented with a fusion of drapes, pearls and fabrics here. Styled by her sister and forever fashion collaborator–Rhea Kapoor, Sonam looks nothing short of a goddess. The long panels on her dress, add magnificence to the entire ensemble with regal pearls sprinkling a touch of royalty.
For hair, Sonam takes cues from Euphoria‘s famous Maddy and decorates her neat braid with multiple pearl studs. Staying away from overdone, full-face makeup, Sonam settled for an understated glam to bind the look together. The usage of silk satin here adds a hint of sensuality and delicacy to the powerful draped construction, which we think is a marination that only Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla can get right! Sonam further weaves her feelings into words, as she captioned the series of three images with “On the cusp of motherhood and at the brink of my birthday, I’m choosing to dress how I feel – Pregnant & Powerful, Bold & Beautiful…”
She also pours her heart out for the designer duo, who never fail to dish out the most fierce and sensual parts of their femininity.
The ensemble as seen on Sonam is a part of the designer duo’s upcoming festive and bridal couture collection which is slated to release in the month of July. Sonam previously chose to dress up in the designer duo’s draped saree as a part of her first few maternity wear photoshoots.
