Shehnaaz Gill’s Ethnic Closet Is A Mix Of Punjabi Colours And South Indian Kanjeevaram

Actress/singer–Shehnaaz Gill’s style makeover has been a delightful journey to watch. After her Big Boss 13 journey, the actress’ rising fame was visible through music videos, brand collaborations, starry parties and of course her fashion evolution. From picking monumental silhouettes to dazzling in designer Manish Malhotra’s sarees, the past few years have added another feather to the actress’ hat, through the tag of fashion inspiration. Moody, colourful and chirpy like her persona, Gill’s closet full of lively prints and flavourful jewellery goes beyond the usual. And as she continues to wear all of it, her eternal love for Indian ethics is often observed through her Instagram grid. Serving best to her title of Punjab ki Katrina Kaif, the actress’ ethnic traditionals are exuberant and party perfect.

From sequins, and embroideries to heirloom-worthy chokers, Gill has a huge stack of only the best designer creations. And as the actress celebrates her 29th birthday today, we look back at her collection of traditional ethics that has our hearts!

Ethereal Sharar

In her latest picture, we spotted the actress in a gorgeous sharara by designers Rimple Harpreet. The hand-embroidered, gold and ivory ensemble featured a short kalidaar kurta, teamed with sharara pants, and a matching dupatta. What added a hint of colour to the look was the multi-coloured border injecting more life to the dupatta. Gill completed the look with a studded choker and matching earrings, with hair styled into a neat bun.

Princess Lehenga

Giving a vintage, old-school update to her lehenga was Shehnaaz in a printed design. The piece by designer Neeta Lulla featured an open-back detail, puff, Victorian sleeves, which Shehnaaz styled with a printed skirt featuring heavy floral detailing. Accessorising the look, Gill added bright stone neckpieces in two layers and styled her hair into an old-school, romantic bun.

Saree Story

Besides her love for Patiala salwars and suits, the actress enjoys draping a bright saree. In her collection, we found a common love for exuberant sequins, which she often exchanges for a traditional silk saree for festivities. Topping her stack of sarees are two whimsical designs by Manish Malhotra, that feature his classic sequin drapes in salmon pink and the latest in pearl white. In the rest two, the actress experimented with two-toned Kanjeevaram and printed, sorbet-coloured sarees.

Paying tribute to her homeland–Punjab, the birthday girl also turned into a Punjabi girl in a patiala salwar and a kurta. Picking the most cheerful shades of fushia pink and orange, Gill’s salwar kameez reminded us of Kareena’s Geet look from the film–Jab We Met. To accessorise it well, Shehnaaz added a pair of shoulder-grazing earrings, a dainty nose pin, colourful bangles and a statement ring.
