‘Rocketry’ Co-Writer Sukhmani Sadana Looked Regal At Cannes In A White Saree With Silver-Gold Detailing
This year’s Cannes Film Festival is a big one for Indians. A lot of our artists are there making a name for themselves and putting the Indian entertainment industry on the map. A lot of Hindi and regional cinema is going to be recognised at Cannes this year and one of the films that are going to be screened this year is R. Madhavan’s Rocketry – The Nambi Effect which he has not only starred in but also directed and produced. The film was co-written by Sukhmani Sadana. Writer Sukhmani shared pictures of her Cannes outfit which I am completely in awe of and has also opened up about her experience doing the film and being at Cannes.
Writer Sukhmani Sadana dazzled Cannes while representing India in her gorgeous saree. The saree white saree was by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Gold and silver details and symmetrical geometrical patterns embellished the border of the saree while there was gold and silver delicate shimmer detail throughout the saree. This detailing is what gave the white saree full-bodied without making it heavy on the eyes. The blouse of the saree was the statement piece. It was filled with strategically and intricately placed gold and silver detailing. It personally reminded me of Priyanka Chopra’s blouse from her Arpita Mehta outfit from Diwali last year. Writer Sukhmani chose to pair her saree with gold chaand baali from Amrapali Jewels. She was styled by Henna Akhtar.

Speaking to India Today, writer Sukhmani recalled the moment she and the team of Rocketry – The Nambi Effect were informed that their film was going to be screened at Cannes. She recalled that they felt very excited and nervous. She couldn’t even believe what she was hearing when R. Madhavan who she referred to as ‘Maddy sir’ called her to give her the good news. She said, “We were congratulating the team and it felt like a dream-come-true. I think it didn’t sink in that night.”
