Reliance Retail Is Bringing Back Shein. Here Are 4 Things To Know About It

The pain was real when the fast-fashion brand Shein was banned in India following the post-Galwan ban on multiple Chinese apps in June 2020. While several similar brands popped up during this time but none has managed to fill the Shein sized-hole in our hearts and in our wardrobes. And many attempts were made to bring the app back (keyword here being attempt). Amazon brought back Shein but their team-up never really worked. Even though the brand is now available on Myntra, nothing on the shopping app matches the quality and variety the brand originally offered at the most pocket-friendly rates. But cheer up, ladies because Shein is finally returning to India with a bang and an alliance with Reliance Retail. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

1. As per media reports, Reliance Retail has plans to set up offline stores of Shein. Do you know what this means? We’ll now be able to hit the stores and pick up our favourite, chic (and hopefully affordable) clothes in a jiffy!

2. While there is no update on if the Shein app will make a comeback or not, the word is that with the partnership with Reliance Retail, Shein will be made available possibly on the brand’s shopping platform, Ajio.

3. The biggest good news for our country is that, according to media reports, Shein will most likely diversify its supply chain by sourcing fabric for its global, local and Middle East operations from India. This means a lot more business for Indian fabric manufacturers. Shein might bring more growth in the textile industry for our country.

4. Further, Shein’s partnership with Reliance Retail does not just have to do with retailing i.e., it also includes sourcing of materials as well as manufacturing which means more growth and development in India.
