This Twitter User’s Observation About The “Act Of Dressing Up” Is So True!
We totally agree!

Fashion is much more than just tapping into trends and endlessly shopping for designer wear. The idea of dressing up is a therapeutic drill for many of us. Besides the psychological impact that the colours we choose to wear have on us, dressing up on a dull day can instantly change your mood. And discussing a similar feeling is a bunch of Twitter users.
A tweet by user–Nona Uppal, says–”looking cute and having a flattering outfit on does so much for my productivity and will-to-live tbh (i’m not a fashion girlie but the impact of dressing up on mental health is so relatively under-discussed),” and we instantly found it relatable. Joining the conversation, many other users backed up the observation with relevant examples and research that explained the psychological impact of putting makeup on.

One user explained the benefits of makeup and dressing up, suggesting how the “act of dolling up” is more crucial and mood-boosting than the clothes. She also pointed out at the therapeutic benefits of doing your skincare routine, and how satisfying it is. Some others shared their personal experiences and mentioned–”Hainaaa, I wear my workout leggings, and bam I’m a new person.” Many also pointed out the fact that they don’t feel like their day has started unless they put on makeup or dress their hair.

literally, so real
it has come to a point where i just cannot work or feel like the day has started unless i have my makeup and hair done right, the confidence and sense of stability and euphoria after that is unreal 🧚♀️— sneha 🪩 (@literaldrama) May 3, 2023

Well, this is indeed a very interesting observation. Many of us enjoy sitting in front of our dressing tables, getting ready to instantly cheer ourselves up on a bad day. And while it is not about the end result or the entirety of a look, but how the entire process of dressing up, picking an outfit, and doing your hair and makeup helps clear our mind and feel better about ourselves. So, ladies, whenever you’re in the mood to burst out or cry, make sure you pick the brush and run into your closets for a makeover.
