‘Never Have I Ever’ Fame Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s Fashion Is P.H.A.T And Her Closet Is Proof

Celebrities without a doubt are the most celebrated circle of people in the whole world. From their hair colour, dialogues to even their closet, every little detail finds a special mention in every home, and especially phones. Whether it was Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana or Selena Gomez in High School Musical, these stars never failed to impact us as their young audience. But with changing times, many teen stars have found a new tunnel to enter our little screens, which of course is Netflix (our new Disney). Voicing narratives that talk about the ongoing boy drama, high school, career, parties, making friends and a lot more… shows like Never Have I Ever feel like a comfy blanket, pressing the relatability switch a little too hard. Mirroring the same is the show’s star girl Maitreyi Ramakrishnan a.k.a Devi, the crown bearer of teen style and ideologies that make us say “she is relatable AF.”

Proof of the god damn queen’s remarkable style, her wardrobe is what I wanna steal apart from um…Paxton, duh! And here are some of my favourite looks, donned by the young star.

THE UP-CYCLED DRESS

Wearing her ideologies in the form of a beautiful outfit, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s choice of spectacular multi-hued strapless semi bouffant dress is beyond the exquisite colour palette and the regal brocade. Styled by celebrity stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer (who is known for curating some amazing looks for Taylor Swift), the Ashwin Thiyagrajan piece turned heads with its up-cycled sarees stitched well into banarasi panels, a souvenir from the designer’s previous collection. Wearing the attire for the 19th annual Unforgettable Gala in Beverly Hills, CA, where she celebrated her OTT debut through the popular show, the ensemble is a beautiful representation of her cultural roots, as she describes it as “so wholesome.”(and we agree!)

The Sunny Yellow Dress

One of the most talked-about outfits from the young star’s closet is the pop sunny yellow dress by Oscar de la Renta (which ofc has the Sarah Jessica Parker connection courtesy of the designer). Featuring a V-neck, dramatic elbow-length balloon sleeves and a thin belt, what I loved the most about the ensemble was the choice of coral pink heels (quite the trendsetter today). The entire look is breezy, fun and advocates minimal dressing.

Florals For The Win

Wrapping herself in all the summer shades, the Estelle dress by Zimmermann ranges from being quirky to portraying class. Featuring two panels of yellow, blue and green guarding the orange meadowy wildflower print in the centre, the versatile dress with its inherent feminine stitch works well with the bold tie-up neon yellow heels, as seen on Maitreyi (bringing neon heels to the spotlight again).

Little Black Dress With A Lemon Twist

Wearing the little black dress but with a fun lemon twist, is the black jacquard dress on Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Opting the outfit for a special appearance at the Kelly Clarkson Show, the teen star’s choice of black mini dress with floral, lemon detailing bordering the front, adds a fresh touch to the classic style. Completing her look with her usual black curls, a stunning pair of suede green heels by Jimmy Choo and gold accessories, the choice is like a breath of fresh air amidst the ongoing craze for sequins.

Colour Block Girl

Looking for the many ways to try on the colour block trend, the 19-year-old’s outfit is a crash course on the many ways to style a robe beyond your washroom door. Playing with candy pop shades at its best, the green pants paired with The Sei bodysuit, Etro robe and a cute orange mini bag by By Far, is proof that, me pairing with my crush might not work well, but these beautiful shades were meant to walk along. I mean look at the citrus hues sitting so beautifully on her, plus the green pumps deserve an extra point. (A totally P.H.A.T look)
