Indian designers are taking their fashion films and campaigns very seriously. Just recently, popular designer Shehla Khan unveiled her latest collection–Venus. Infused with her signature pastels and pearls, the new collection exudes elegance in its latest bridal designs. Starring actress Mrunal Thakur, the pictures feature an array of lehenga designs and lace-soaked veils.

Styled by popular celebrity stylist–Anaita Shroff Adajania, the pictures reveal Thakur in a never-seen-before anadaaz.Photographs clicked by Rohan Shrestha, Mrunal channels Venus, the goddess of beauty, love and desire. Some of the pieces sported by Thakur include an unconventional beige lehenga, an ice-blue ethnic corset blouse, floor-sweeping veils and pearl jewellery.

For hair and makeup, Thakur experimented with gelled-up hair and painted her inner eye corners with bright colourful makeup. Some interesting accessories on Thakur featured lace gloves. Inspired by the goddess of imperial power, the collection explores the designer’s love for romantic textures, lace designs, and tulle lehengas, and gives a modern-day spin to traditional ethnic wear. Explaining the collection in detail, Khan mentioned in the note–”Delicate yet bold, this collection pays homage to the most powerful and influential of ancient Roman deities, bringing together elements of femininity and strength in stunning fashion.”
