Designer Masaba Gupta is gifting us an upgraded, more desi version of Valentino’s Pink PP shade card, in the form of Rani pink. The multihyphenate’s new design collection termed–RaniCore is a celebration of the mood-bursting barbiecore, which is this year’s big breakout trend. Having everyone in India obsessed with itself, the new-age, RaniCore is Masaba’s ode to her legacy, which was built over her signature prints. Ditching one this time, Masaba takes on the journey of going glam basic, with solid colours, sans prints. And as she goes beyond her statement patterns, the question is “Where is the Masaba print?”

Wearing this question on her sparkling pink pallu, was the designer herself, as she stepped out to take the front-row seat at Vogue’s Forces Of Fashion event. Gupta’s sartorial choice for the evening incorporated a snazzy saree from her new mood board. Coupled with the already-popular, arm-warmer blouse, Masaba’s approach towards the hot pink was no less spectacular. On Gupta, we spotted a monochromatic pairing, that featured a long-trailing pallu, that said–”Where is the Masaba print?”

Styling the look to perfection, Masaba wore the Slogan Sportee saree with ‘The Neenaji Blouse,’ and Balenciaga shades in hot pink. She further accentuated her ensemble with hot pink Louboutin heels, the holy cow neckpiece by House Of Masaba, and a gold enamel bracelet, earrings from her brand itself. Masaba further sealed her tresses into a sleek bun and painted her lips with a matching shade of pop pink.
In a caption, accompanying the pictures, Masaba explained her vision towards RaniCore, a limited edition, that ditches her classic prints. Gupta elaborates on how her legacy in print design was both her biggest strength and often limited her.

A similar format of this new saree design was earlier seen on Masaba’s mom, and actress–Neena Gupta, who picked up a monochrome drape and arm warmer blouse for the premiere of her film–Uunchai.

Masaba Gupta was joined by celebrities like–Mira Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vogue Editor-In-Chief–Anna Wintour, for the Forces Of Fashion Event in India.
