While No One Was Looking, Sobhita Dhulipala Was Winning At Fashion!

By  |

OTT’s darling, and a star in the making, Sobhita Dhulipala has been serving lewks in a virtual platter, ever since her fabulous performance in 2019’s most loved show Made In Heaven. Much like her character Tara in the series, the actress churns out some amazing ensembles that urge for the double-tap on Instagram. A blend of traditional and contemporary styling, the actress’ wardrobe reinvents retro fashion staples for the web world. And amidst the craze of crowdfunded trends, the Kurup star keeps her applaudable sartorial taste intact. So, here are 5 of my favourite looks from the actress’ Instagram feed that deserve a ten on ten.

Denim Delight

Giving a frill twist to a regular denim dress, Sobhita Dhulipala opted for label Atsu’s design from its RTW fall winter 2021 collection. Teaming up the edgy silhouette with a pair of chocolate brown polished boots, the denim dress featured an a-line fit, frills bordering the sleeves and neckline with a button-down pattern alongside contrast, thread stitches defining the hemline and panels. She kept her make-up simple with an added shade to the lips, and hair tonged into smooth waves that replicated the dramatic sleeves.

A Green Gala

Styled by designer and stylist Dolla Baruah, the actress stunned in Delhi based label Shop Ustat’s design. Wearing separates by the gender & size-inclusive brand, the ensemble featured a silk wrap-around straight skirt paired with a back open, cropped blouse accentuated by a cowl neck in the same shade and fabric. Sporting a fringe hairdo, she added a pair of transparent hand gloves with frilled hemline, a pearl bag and custom sage axis sandals by designer Dyuti Bansal (Uff, so hot!).

Back In Time

Promoting her 2021 release Kurup alongside actor Dulquer Salmaan, the actress was spotted in a Payal Khandwala drape. Knitting together her love for fashion in the 60s, the actress opted for a delicate organza saree, highlighting a maximalist print with a red shirt blouse and statement earring by Curio Cottage. Styling her centre-parted, curled flicks with a red rose, she added a winged eyeliner to complete the old-school styling.

Checkmate

Dressed in geometric lines head-to-toe, Sobhita’s suiting choice for the GQ Man of The Year 2019 Awards, is still my favourite. Narrating ‘messy yet fabulous,’ the three-piece set featured two versions of the checkered print in the undertone colour palette by labels Gucci and Tommy Hilfiger. The contrasting clash of the checks, styled by celebrity stylist Meagan Concessio, brought together white pumps, red cat-eye shades, a hand bracelet and a few finger rings. She embraced her messy locks and worked around subtle make-up to match the the grey hued look.

The Saree Saga

Wearing a classic Sabyasachi ensemble, Sobhita Dhulipala opted for a plain beige saree, paired with a strappy blouse from the designer’s collection. She added Sabyasachi’s signature royal Bengal tiger belt in a tan shade to stitch the look together and a diamond-ruby pendant necklace with matching earrings, that complimented the brown leather clutch. She made a statement at the Kurup world premiere in Dubai by opting for a bold braided bun and smokey eyes.
