New Initiatives This Season

One of the exciting new initiatives this year at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI is the inclusion of several programs that highlight emerging design talent. The Spotlight: Siddhartha Bansal, presented by NEXA provides a platform for young designers to showcase their talent and creativity to a wider audience. Siddhartha Bansal is one of the featured designers this year, and his collection promises to be a standout with its bold prints, bright colours, and modern silhouettes.

Another program to watch out for is the INIFD Launchpad, which focuses on supporting and promoting young designers who are just starting their careers. Last but not least is FDCI X Pearl Academy First Cut, a collaboration between the Fashion Design Council of India and Pearl Academy.

Sustainable Fashion Day

One of the most exciting aspects of the event is the focus on sustainability, which is becoming increasingly important in the fashion industry. The Atelier Opening by Anavila, known for her sustainable and eco-friendly approach to fashion, promises to be a standout with its use of natural fibres and dyes. Another showcase we’re looking forward to is the R|Elan™ Presents Circular Design Challenge (CDC) in partnership with the United Nations in India. This year’s designers include Chamar, Doodlage: Made From Waste, and IRO IRO. The KVIC Khadi Show is another must-see event, with presentations by Suket Dhir, Divyam Mehta, Shruti Sancheti, and the Centre of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK). RISE Worldwide presents BODICE is another highlight of this year’s event.
