Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI is back for another season of glitz, glam, and tons of tributes to India’s rich history and culture. Besides schedules that are flooded with popular designer names, many up-and-coming artists will make way for their latest collections. What makes the roster even more interesting are the significant spots made for female fashion designers, who will display their creations.

While India’s fashion history has celebrated women from both cinema screens and political podiums, what excites us the most is this new wave of modern Indian designs, put forward by the latest female designer showcases this season. Strutting the runway at this year’s Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI will be close to 14 female-led labels. On day 1 designer Anavila will pay homage to India-born sarees.

Overall, this season is all about the transitioning weather, the arrival of summer, and more visits to the beach in mood-bursting shades. Alongside a celebration of conscious clothing, women will take the centre stage, as inspirations. The season also unveils the new campaign by Lakmé that is all about embracing fashion and beauty to be #UnapologeticallyMÉ. The week of fashion will start on March 9 and close on March 12, 2023.
