The most-popular shaadi of the year is having a major moment on our little screens, with beautiful pictures of the couple dropping every day. And every image is an accurate representation of the royal wedding with Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s wedding wardrobe making me wanna look for my dulha and a mandap asap.
Saying ‘I do’ in the spectacular state of Rajasthan, from the mandap, haldi ceremony to the final shaadi day, every little bit about their wedding outfit was regal and truly the ‘Sabya’ way. Opting for India’s most popular bridal couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s designs, just like many popular celebrity couples, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal are a vision in the designer’s outstanding silhouettes throughout the four-day-long festivities. And at this point as I await for the next set of pictures, I know it’s going to be a Sabyasachi again.
Sharing a glimpse from her pre-wedding festivities on her instagram handle, the actress is seen wearing the couturier’s designs just like her wedding, haldi and mehendi ceremony ensembles (truly a Sabya bride).
Wearing a tulle sari paired with a veil and a beautiful choker, the colour palette is like a whimsical dream. A special silhouette designed by Sabyasachi to pay homage to Katrina Kaif’s mother’s British heritage, the ensemble is a beautiful blend of two cultures and values. Talking further about the look, the designer shared on his Instagram handle, “Katrina Kaif pays tribute to her mother’s British heritage during the pre-wedding festivities. Sabyasachi conceptualised and created a vintage-inspired couture sari with a trailing veil. Silhouetted like a white wedding gown, the pastel tulle sari is embellished with hand-cut English flowers, embroidered by craftswomen from Bengal and liberally sprinkled with semi-precious gems and crystals. The ensemble took 40 artisans over 1800 hours to handcraft.”
Opting for Sabyasachi jewellery to complement the floral attire, the actress accessorised the ensemble with a statement uncut diamond choker detailed with opals and pale Russian emeralds, matching earrings, a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. (It is all things perfect).

Sharing some behind the making details about the look, celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania who styled the actress throughout the four-day-long festivities shared on her Instagram handle, “Dreams do come true…Sundowner… While planning the looks I really wanted something that reflected the beauty of a white wedding… veil , trail and a bouquet of hand picked flowers. So we added these ideas to the eternal grace of a sari. Sabyasachi created this magical nude floral tulle with the most delicate flowers, that reminded me of flowers we press in our favourite romantic novels. Here’s to creating magical memories..”
While her groom Vicky Kaushal opted for the same designer’s outfit to match his beautiful bride, his ensemble too is an ode to the bride’s mother’s British roots. Seen wearing a Bangalore silk embroidered sherwani and matching churidar with Sabyasachi gold plated Bengal Tiger buttons and custom-made juttis by the same designer, the actor’s ensemble is minimal and let’s his bride take the spotlight. (and that’s what equality looks like)
Choosing designer Sabyasachi’s creations throughout her wedding festivities and her D-Day, the shaadi closet of the actress is a presentation of exquisite shades and silhouettes that truly define her as a person and represent her cultural roots.
After months of speculation, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal finally got married on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan.
