In pictures on the designer’s official social media handle, we spotted a bunch of regal designs sported by the actress. The classic look of the Queen of Wakanda was stitched using a Zulu-inspired hat, that serves the purpose of a crown. A part of her ensemble in the pictures are padded-shouldered, 3D printed gowns with elevated necklines.

In a few other pictures, we spotted Queen Ramonda in a strapless, ombré mauve gown, that featured a studded-belt detail and her signature hat in the shade black. While Valaya did not elaborate on the design language, and his inspiration for the costumes, it is known to have mixed nuances from African culture, and fairytale glam. Besides seasoning every look with traditions, costume designer Ruth Carter, and JJ Valaya, worked towards stitching the idea of power that the queen stands for. Complimenting her elevated shoulders were crowns designed by Julia Koerner, that denoted the marital status of Zulu women.
