Collaborative collections have always taken the top shelves and the brightest spotlight, when it comes to fashion. From celebrity-designed capsule collections to food-inspired designs, the coming together of two brands is a great idea. Why? I mean the hype! The exclusive partnership is not just fruitful to one, but two names and explores creativity at best. And while many remain a hit amongst buyers, the rest have us scratching our heads. Take a look at some popular whacky and weird collaborations.

Heinz X ThredUp

Daag achhe hai, just got real! Popular ketchup brand Heinz has joined hands with clothing brand–ThredUP. The interesting collection titled–Vintage Drip, explores a variety of white t-shirts that feature a drop of ketchup. The drop of red hot sauce on your neat whites, is now a fashion statement, all thanks to this collaboration. Checkout here.

KFC X Crocs

Only if you and your wardrobe remain hungry for crisp chicken and of course crocs, this collaboration could be your dream purchase. In an unusual manner, Kentucky Fried Chicken joined hands with footwear brand Crocs to deliver the best of both worlds at your feet. The classic clogs from Crocs feature the print of KFC’s famous fried chicken. The soul of this unique pair resembles the print of the KFC bucket and is headlined by Jibbitz charms that replicate the look and smell fried of chicken. Checkout here.

Smeg X Dolce & Gabbana

If just like your closet your kitchen speaks a luxury language, then this collaboration will appeal to your but maybe not your pocket. The partnership between the luxury, home appliance label and Italian fashion house opened doors to an exclusive edit of printed kitchen tools, that sure looks a tad tacky. Ranging from juicers, kettles, blenders, and toasters to mixers, the unique collection features typical Sicilian decoration. I am sorry, but we’d still like to stay with Smeg’s original colour palette. Checkout here.

Slack x Cole Haan

I am probably still operating my slack, as I write this list down. This tells you a lot about our work lives revolving around this messaging program and exactly why this partnership might take an extra minute from your time on the internet. The tie-up between Slack and American footwear label–Cole Haan, loans its inspiration from the former’s colour scheme of blue, green, yellow and red, as it paints the sneaker souls with each of these shades. A perfect pick for corporate hustlers, the white sneakers represent the colours of Slack and pin a mini version of its logo on the side. Checkout here.

Oreo X Supreme

A collaboration that broke the internet in 2020, is still love at first sight for many. An unusual partnership between the American clothing brand– Supreme and the popular sandwich cookie–Oreo had many eyes on it. As a part of Supreme’s S/S 20 collection, the tie-up featured the famous cookie with the top re-branded as per Supreme’s classic design, enveloping the same flavour. Each packet of Oreo came with three pieces in classic Supreme red. Every packet priced close to Rs 700 and that’s exactly why I’d pick a pack of Parle-G to dip in my glass of milk.

E.L.F Cosmetics X Dunkin’ Donuts

Another fascinating partnership from the year 2022 was brought to our screens by American cosmetics brand E.L.F. and coffee and doughnut company–Dunkin’ Donuts. The one-of-a-kind range of products features four-pan palettes with shades inspired by doughnut flavours, Coffee Lip Scrub, Glazed for Days lip gloss set with the classic Dunkin’ colours and also a primer that smells pretty much like doughnuts. Yep, you might as well eat your makeup! Checkout here.

Moschino x McDonald’s

An iconic collection that we may never forget was born out of a unique partnership between the multinational fast food chain–McDonald’s and Italian luxury fashion house–Moschino. Launched in the year 2014, the creative collaboration for the latter’s fall 2014 RTW collection made its way on the runway. From Moschino’s M replaced with MC Donald’s yellow font and iPhone cases that read french fries to bags that reminded you of a happy meal, the special edit was an interesting first of its time in the tie-ups of food and fashion.
