In a sad turn of events, the Armani Group recently announced the passing away of fashion designing icon, Giorgio Armani. He created a fashion revolution by designing the ultimate uniform that defined the 1980s and beyond built a legacy that will forever be remembered. The legend recently turned 91 on July 11. The group described him as a ‘tireless driving force.’ Here are all his achievements, net worth, and more.

Giorgi Armani not only was an icon, but he built his entire empire out of passion and the love for fashion, making him a billionaire. And as per Forbes Real-Time Billionaire has a networth of $12.1 billion. Over the years, he ventured into many sectors such as accessories, perfumes, makeup, flowers, chocolates and sportswear, as well as interior design, real estate, restaurants and hotels. He also owns 20 restaurants across the world including 2 luxury hotels in Milan and Dubai. He also has his own basketball team called EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, aka, Olympia Milano.

His company generated a whopping profit of 2.3 billion euros ($2.7 billion) in 2024. The fashion revolutionary also owns the yacht Main valued at 60 million euros. He has apartments and bungalows in Milan, his hometown, Saint Tropez, Paris, and Saint Moritz. He was born of July 11, 1934, in Piacenza in northern Italy. Armani initially started out as a medical school student. After that, he enrolled in the army. His first interaction with fashion happened with a job as a buyer and window dresser for Milan department store called La Rinascente according to Forbes.

And in the mid 60s, popular designer Nino Cerruti offered Armani a job designing menswear. And by 1973, Armani opened his own Milan design studio with the support of his business and romantic partner Sergio Galeotti.  Since then, the first time he missed Milan’s Men’s Fashion Week was in 2025, a fashion show he designed himself.
