Deepika And Ranveer Looked Fierce And Totally In Love As They Walked For Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan Collection. We Want What They Have!
Last night was a grand one for celebrities who arrived to celebrate designer Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan showcase. The collection celebrates the designer’s ten-year-long collaboration with Mijwan, an NGO, that strives to keep the ancient handcraft of chikankari alive. The larger-than-life event was hosted by actress Shabana Azmi, and saw a list of attendees like Karan Johar, Ishaan Khattar, Gauri Khan, Genelia and Ritesh Deshmukh, amongst others. The massive ramp welcomed the designer’s spectacular creations, worn by models in the form of splendid lehengas and sarees.

While the evening was every bit starry, Manish Malhotra brought with him a surprise package, with his choice of showstoppers. Celebrity couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh headlined the showcase wearing sparkling designs. On Deepika, we saw a beautiful ivory lehenga, that incorporated a semi-sheer skirt, statement chikankari overlay and long trailing dupatta. Arriving like the queen she is, Deepika’s ensemble was a heavy mix of caramel and white embroidery, complemented by dramatic open hair, thick eyeliner and regal jewels.

Accompanying his wife on stage, actor Ranveer Singh brought his best energy in a black kurta. His ensemble hit a rather different colour note, as he opted for black to join his queen in white. The massive sherwani flaunted a statement chikankari jaal work, with crisp collars and extended sleeves. Ranveer completed the look with his hair tied into a ponytail, a pair of black pants and shoes that captured our immediate attention.

With the star couple painting a beautiful sight, the audience was in awe as they witnessed this gorgeous jodi. While Deepika walked with her fiery attitude and had every eyeball on her, Ranveer showcased his best moves in the sherwani, as he greeted his mom and sister, Gauri Khan and probably every member from the front row. After their solo walks, the couple arrived hand in hand, with some moments of PDA and lovely kisses. We say kissi nazar na lage.
