Red romance!
Parineeti Chopra, Sara Ali Khan And More Stars To Help You Style Red On Day 7 Of Chaitra Navratri

Chaitra Navratri is the auspicious festival of nine-long days, celebrated by Hindus in India. The festival is observed to worship the many avatars of the goddess Durga. Each day comes with a specific colour, signifying an avatar. Day 7 is known to be the day of Goddess Kalaratri as well as Goddess Saraswati. On this day, worshipers wear the colour red, which is the colour of the auspicious chunri that Goddess Shakti is offered. The colour symbolises, strength, love and passion. And as we gear up for the saptami, here is how you can style the colour to celebrate the day.

Saree Saga

For a special puja at home, sarees are never a bad option. Like actresses Rakul Preet, Ananya Panday and Tamannaah Bhatia, you can choose the classic silhouette in the shade, and accessorise it accordingly. From modern-day contemporary to old-school embroideries, you may choose from a wide range of patterns to mark day 7. Here, you can control the amount of the colour red in your look, or play with contrasting shades for some sartorial drama. Style it with a basic blouse, or a crop top and you’re good to go.

Festive Sets

If you’re always confused between kurtas and funky pants, then the new-age festive sets will dress you up for the day. Like actresses Athiya Shetty and Kajol, festive sets by designers like Anamika Khanna are easy to style and versatile enough for many more rounds in the future. Here, dense embroidery, and crowded prints will reduce your hassle to look for statement jewellery pieces.

Disney lehengas

Lehengas are a favourite festive wear in India. After sarees, this silhouette has taken the top spot in almost every Indian girl’s wardrobe over a period of many years. To help you exude ethnic charm in a lehenga, we bring flavourful design inspirations, straight from the wardrobes of actresses Parineeti Chopra and Sara Ali Khan. From lace-soaked necklines to age-old dabka work in gold, you can choose your favourite from the list for the auspicious day. Styling a lehenga can be made easier with the addition of a dupatta and maangtika. You can also add a cool potli bag in case you’re stepping out.

Kurta Klub

As a part of the kurta klub, actresses like Karisma Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari and Katrina Kaif will help you style one using simple palazzo pants, a classic churidar or a flouncy skirt. In this case, you can opt for relaxed designs, striking prints, cutwork and jewellery of your choice to elevate even a simple design. Like Kaif, you can also strike a balance between embroidery and prints, or take the colour play route like actress Aditi Rao Hydari.
