This Cosplay Creator’s Vecna Inspired Ballroom Gown Will Make You Both Prom And Halloween Ready
Stranger Things 4 has made our worlds upside down, and it’s all that the internet wants to talk about. The release of Vol 2, of the latest season, introduces us to the fact that Henry, Vecna, and One are all the same. And as we talk about Vecna, how can we forget the look, that gives us goosebumps. Curated from scratch, the attire on Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower, is a piece of art and a great cosplay uniform for Halloween this year. The attire as seen on the season’s villain, took close to eight hours, 25 pieces of latex and silicone rubber material to be glued to perfection. Flaunting veins, that resemble the deepest roots of a tree and glossy sheen that almost bursts out in abundance, Vecna is sure to deliver you spooky chills, by only the look of it.
I made this almost entirely out of leftover plastic (and a little bit of Worbla, wire, paint and hot glue)
I‘ll upload a little making of video in the next days!!! pic.twitter.com/f4n2T0lX6H

And while everyone is sure to indulge in this conversation, and of course, the BTS that has Jamie sipping on some Starbucks, as he gets painted with medical adhesive for the look, one Twitter user has put her creativity on display and let’s just say we’re impressed. A Twitter handle by the name of Liechee, who is also a budding cosplay/costume creator, has dropped a new creative genius. Taking it to her social media handles, Lie shared the process of creating a version of Vecna’s look, that one might wanna wear to the prom.

The final results on her page, introduce us to a ballroom gown, that loans inspiration from the Stranger Things‘ deadly character. Titled the ‘UpsideGown’ Lie’s mehnaat reflects through a series of pictures and videos, as posted on her social media accounts. In the videos we see Lie, building the gown from scratch, using plastic waste, colours and a lot of hot glue guns. Over weeks of curation, and days of painting, the strapless, vein-headlined gown received truckloads of love and praise from the internet.

While Lie not only made the dress, she also decided to shoot herself wearing it. Matching her face makeup with the UpsideGown, Lie posed in a series of pictures and said, “I made this almost entirely from leftover plastic and a bit of Worbla, wire, hot glue and paint.” Replicating the gloss and sheen on Vecna’s look, which btw was a key factor while curating the original character uniform, Lie managed to bring to us an exactly similar nuance as seen in the OG Upside Down.
I saw a post that they built the UpsideDown set with plastic and pool noodles. My friend just moved and had a bunch of plastic waste so I was like “…wait?? Do you still have that?”
Turning the UpsideDown into a dress and hopefully finish it for the new Stranger Things season! pic.twitter.com/AytRYi0QZj

Reacting to the look, internet pariwaar said, “Amazing! This is freaking good. Lady Vecna is coming for you,” “Gorgeous concept. Can’t wait to see more!!!! Love the design,” “such an amazing concept and execution.. congrats.”
The talented creator is known to have put her genius brains into many versions of popular character costumes in the past. And well, it is so damn, good. While both the internet and Netflix broke, with the release of Vol 2, we are still not over the finale episode, and would love to get back to re-watching our favourite season.
