Feathers have always been a festive favourite. A veteran in the category of embellishments, feather trims bordering jackets, have now become an equally important part of lehengas, and sarees. And thankfully this display of affection towards faux fur, and feathers has become an unavoidable purchase for celebrities. Returning back in time for the wedding season are designer creations that are leaning towards feather hemlines. Be it a dress or a dazzling lehenga, feathers have become synonymous with glitz.

And while we are still hoping to see more celebrities headline the trend, actress Bhumi Pednekar is so far obsessed with feathers. During her style collaborations with celebrity stylists–Rhea Kapoor, and Mohit Rai, Bhumi delivered some extravagant looks. And as the Govinda Naam Mera actress undergoes her style revamp, feathers are finding a special mention in each of her looks.

Taking feather trims beyond classic winter wear, Pednekar gave the embellishment not one, but three different variations. In her recent red carpet appearance for Filmfare Middle East, Pednekar arrived in a monumental gown. The Badhaai Do star picked up a royal silhouette from the shelves of designer–Rami Kadi’s couture collection. The twinkling, moonbeam jacquard gown by the designer featured a strapless bodice, attached to a long trail. The slit skirt with a moulded four-layer drape was matched with a pair of opera gloves. The pair delivered a feather moment with a massive hemline attached at the end. The see-through gloves are the biggest nod to this year’s most viral accessories–the opera gloves.

Besides styling feathers as a statement accessory piece, Bhumi previously wore it in the format of a dress. As styled by Mohit Rai, Bhumi shared a bunch of new pictures in a sultry lemon dress. The one-shouldered, thin strap number by House Of CB featured an asymmetrical hemline, decorated with a thick layer of pale yellow feathers. What we loved about this retro-adored silhouette was the punch of fairytale feathers. Pednekar further teamed the look with a pair of lace-up heels in silver.

Another of our favourite experiments with feathers, by Bhumi, is this Diwali look. Designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, the actress gave a romantic spin to a classic saree for a Diwali bash. In pictures we spotted Bhumi in a satin, pearl saree that was further teamed with a rhinestone-embellished blouse. What makes this feather format a unique pick from the three, is its usage in limited quantities. Here, Bhumi wraps up a saree with a heavily-bordered pallu. A part of this border are organza rose blooms, sitting next to a dash of feathers. What we loved about Bhumi’s idea of a modern-day saree is the interesting mix between sequins, floral motifs, and faux fur.

So, if you are hoping to channel a feather-laden look, Bhumi Pednekar will guide you towards a spectacular one.
