Andy Sachs, Oops, We Mean Anne Hathaway Sitting Next To Anna Wintour At NYFW Is Giving Major Devil Wears Prada!
The second annual edition of New York Fashion Week has the internet’s unbiased attention. From celebrities to fashion nerds, everyone is watching out for designer collections and fiery trends of the year. Starting from September 9, 2022, the biggest event for the fashion circle has already managed to grab eyeballs. But what the internet witnessed last evening, was something iconic. Arriving for the Michael Kors showcase at the fashion week, actress Anne Hathaway pulled off a version of her popular onscreen character. The actress arrived on the streets of New York and posed for the cameras in a turtleneck cashmere, paired with a faux crocodile-skin, leather skirt and a matching, collared overcoat. The chocolate brown set, teamed with the winter staple, instantly took us back in time, only for us to scream, “Wait, is that Andy Sachs?”

And the answer is–hell, yes! The Princess Diaries star took the front row at the Michael Kors show, alongside Serena Williams and Editor-in-Chief of Vogue–Anna Wintour. But what contributed to the chatter amongst onlookers was Anne’s sartorial brilliance. She took style cues from her iconic character Andrea Sachs, an aspiring journalist, who finds her beats in fashion through the course of the film. Replicating one of Andrea AKA Andy’s looks from the film, she replaced the denim jeans and boots with a tiny skirt. What also contributed to the uncanny resemblance were Anne’s fuss-free bangs and hair tied into a half ponytail, exactly how Andy dressed up. For makeup too, Anne opted for a sweet berry colour to paint her lips and tons of blush for the cheeks. Well, if this isn’t iconic, then what is?

Michael Kors displayed its much-anticipated Spring/Summer 2023 collection. In downtown Manhattan’s glass warehouse, the American luxury fashion house displayed an array of designs that seem to still root for the clean and crisp charisma of women’s pantsuits. From blazers teamed with asymmetrical skirts, to busy bold prints, decorated with fringes, the mix of flash and workwear was an interesting marriage of trends to witness.
