The new week has started, and so has the grind to get through it! Dreaded Monday is over but the poora hafta abhi baaki hai, mere dost! Amid this daily hustle and bustle, you need a break to refresh yourself. And what better way to unwind than by watching movies and series? So, I am back with a curated list of the movies and the series releasing this week so that you can update your watchlist! Toh chaliye fir, shuru karte hain!

Golden Globe awards – Lionsgate Play

The international award season will be kickstarted by the Golden Globe awards which will air live on January 11, 2023. So, those who want to catch the award ceremony live can do so by subscribing to Lionsgate Play.

Noise – Netflix 

A mother looking for her missing daughter comes across a support group where women who have faced violence in their lives have enrolled. This movie starring Julieta Egurrola will release on January 11, 2023, on Netflix.  

Tegimpu – Theatres

Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier’s action-adventure film has left their fans anticipating its release. Ajith will break into a bank and keep the people there hostage, all while exuding irresistible charm! The film will release in theatres on January 11. 

Varisu – Theatres   

Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna’s action drama is one of the highly anticipated releases of the year. The plot revolves around Vijay’s life making a 180-degree flip after his foster father dies. Varisu releases in theatres on January 12. 

Veera Simha Reddy – Theatres 

This Telugu action thriller stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shruti Haasan, and others. The plot revolves around the power that Veera Simha Reddy, a don, wields over even the most well-connected politicians. The film hits theatres on January 12. 

Vikings: Valhalla season 2 – Netflix 

The second season of this historical drama is based 100 years after the first one. This season will revolve around the end of the Viking age and the Battle of Stamford Bridge. It will be available for streaming on Netflix from January 12.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight season 2 – Netflix 

Fans of Po must be super excited as the second season of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight will stream on Netflix from January 12. It will revolve around Po’s adventures with Luthera, a knight, and their quest to find the four Tianshang weapons based on Earthly elements. 

Scattered Barriers – Netflix 

The story of this mini-series revolves around a taxi driver who loses his job during the COVID-19 pandemic and how his unemployment causes him and his family immense stress. The series will be able for streaming from January 12. 

Dog Gone – Netflix 

This movie is based on the real-life events of a father and son who lose their beloved pet dog on a hike. As they set out to find it, they repair their relationship as well. The cast of the movie stars Rob Lowe, Johnny Berchtold and others. It will drop on streaming giant Netflix on January 13. 

Sky Rojo season 3  – Netflix 

The story continues after Coral played by Verónica Sánchez, Wendy played by Lali Espósito and Gina played by Yany Prado escape from their pimp with four million euros, they want to start their lives afresh in a small village. The third season of this show drops on January 13. 

Disconnect: The Wedding Planner – Netflix 

This comedy film is about a man who falls prey to a scam and now has to plan a whole wedding for a prospective investor in his business. But this ensues a whole lot of drama! This entertainer will drop on Netflix on January 13.

Hunters season 2 – Prime Video

The second season of this conspiracy drama will revolve around the Hunters gathering a group to hunt down the Nazi officials to bring them to justice and stop them from executing their mass-killing plans. Hunters season 2 drops on Netflix on January 13. 

Kuttey – Theatres 

This action-thriller boasts an ensemble star of Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Naseeruddin Shah and others. The movie is a story of two morally grey cops who give a green light to transport illegal arms, and they both mint money off it. The film will hit the silver screens on January 13. 

Megan – Theatres 

A robot that will never make a child feel lonely but the child only gets attached to it, and the robot will now go to any length to protect it? Even if that includes murder? This pretty much summarises the plot of this movie which hits theatres on January 13. The cast of the film includes Allison Williams and Violet McGraw.

Plane – Theatres 

This Gerard Butler starrer revolves around a pilot who saves his passengers from lightning by landing his plane on a war-torn island. But the situation only gets worse as the passengers are taken hostage by rebels from the island. Plane will release in theatres on January 13. 

Lakadbaggha – Theatres

This film stars Anshuman Jha, Ridhi Dogra, Milind Soman and Paresh Pahuja in prominent roles and revolves around an animal lover who will leave no stone unturned to save animals from being traded illegally. Lakadbaggha hits theatres on January 13.

Waltair Veerayaa – Theatres 

Chiranjeevi, Shruti Haasan and Ravi Teja essay the lead roles in this action comedy film. The plot revolves around an ego war between Chiranjeevi, a smuggler, and Ravi, a policeman, who wants to stop his illegal activities. The film releases in theatres on January 13. 

The Last Of Us – Disney Plus Hotstar

This post-apocalyptic drama stars Pedro Pascal who is a smuggler and he has to escort Bella Ramsey, a teenager, across the United States in the post-apocalyptic world. The series will drop on Disney Plus Hotstar on January 15.
