The week has commenced and I am sure you are sorting your New Year party scenes! The New Year’s eve prep is exciting but at the same time, going to the office is such a buzz kill, na? But amid this, if you want to relax a little and take a breather, what better way to do that than by catching up on the new releases of this week? So, I have come prepared with the list of new movies and series releasing from December 26, 2022, to January 1, 2023, to ease the burden off your shoulders of making a watchlist. Vir Das: Landing – Netflix

This will mark Vir Das’ fourth comedic collaboration with Netflix. The official synopsis for the movie says that the stand-up comedian shares stories of his childhood spent in India, the audience’s wrath for his poem Two Indias and many other topics.

Treason – Netflix

This spy thriller released on Netflix on December 26. It is the story of an MI6 agent who finds it difficult to adjust to his new role because of his troubled past. Its cast includes Charlie Cox, Olga Kurylenko and Oona Chaplin among others.

7 Women And A Murder – Netflix

The plot of this Spanish comedy film revolves around seven women from the same household who find themselves trapped in their house, quite literally, after the main man of the house is murdered. The needle of suspicion swings from one woman to another who all claim to be innocent. This film will release on Netflix on December 28.

White Noise – Netflix

This absurdist comedy film stars Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig in the lead roles and is a story about their large family that has to evacuate their residence due to an ‘airborne toxic event’. The film will release on December 30.

Chelsea Handler: Revolution – Netflix

The popular American comedian Chelsea Handler will tickle your funny bones with her take on rescuing dogs, her decision to remain ‘childless and alone’ and why dating is frustrating. The film has been released on the streaming platform.

Kaleidoscope – Netflix

If you a fan of heist dramas, then this one is for you. Boasting an ensemble cast of Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Rosaline Elbay and more, you are in for a ride as $7 billion are at stake! The limited series will drop on January 1, 2023.

Ved – Theatres

Riteish Deshmukh will make his directorial debut with this Marathi-language romantic drama film. The film will also star his wife Genelia D’Souza. It is set to hit theatres on December 30.

Aar Ya Paar – Disney Plus Hotstar

This series revolves around how a tribe’s existence falls in danger due to the greed of the man who wants to own their land. Here’s when an archer comes to its rescue. The cast of the series includes Patralekhaa, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sumeet Vyas and Aditya Rawal. It will be available for streaming on December 30.

Double XL – Netflix

This Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha starrer is a story of two plus-sized women who get fat-shamed all their lives. But they unite to show the world that they are talented individuals and teach a lesson that people should learn to look past women’s weights.
