Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay is currently on a Tamil Nadu tour ahead of his first elections as the chief of Tamilaga Vettru Kazhagam (TVK). And amid a recent rally, a fan gave him a framed picture from his wedding to Sangeetha featuring the late actor Vijayakanth. This happened in the middle of his ongoing divorce proceedings. After that, he signalled his security team to hand him that and held it up while giving a thumbs up to the crowd. After taking a closer look at this picture, he handed it back to the security officer. Sangeetha filed for divorce in February 2026, hoping to bring their 27-year marriage to an end. The pair, who have been married since 1999, have two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha.

In her plea, she alleged infidelity and cruelty as reasons for the breakup, claiming that Vijay was having an extramarital affair with another actor. During the proceedings, Vijay was seen making a public appearance with actor Trisha, sparking speculation about their connection. However, neither party has responded to these speculations.
On the political front, Vijay’s party, TVK, is scheduled to fight all 234 constituencies in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections on April 23. The results are anticipated to be released on May 4. Professionally, Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is still entangled in censor board limbo. Meanwhile, an HD print of the film has leaked online, pending official certification.
