A Fan Taught Vidya Balan A Lesson On Self-Love And Accepting One’s Flaws. Now She’s Sharing It With Us
Ever since the whole concept of selfies and selfie camera phones came into being, I feel people began becoming conscious of their best-looking sides. Some believe their left profile looks better while others believe their right ones do. At a gathering many a time, I have seen my friends turn their bodies accordingly to the camera so that their preferred or better-looking sides were captured. And it was surprising to read that Vidya Balan, too, felt the same about herself at one point. The actress took to her Instagram handle to share a couple of selfies and also penned a lengthy note about how she felt her left profile looked better than the right and over the years how she came to love herself just the way she was.
Vidya Balan shared two mirror selfies one focusing on her right profile and the other on her left one. She began her note by recalling an incident where a female fan asked to get a picture clicked with her again as she was not looking good in the photo as it was clicked from the wrong side. The Jalsa actress went on to write that she did oblige the fan with another photo but as she got into her car, this incident got her thinking.
She, then, wrote, “You know I’ve always preferred my left profile over my right…but overtime as I started on this journey of trying to love & accept myself a little more each day, I realised that liking one profile meant liking one part of me to the exclusion of the other…because the truth is that I not only liked my left but also disliked my right profile.”
Talking about self-love and how she came to accept both her profiles, she wrote, “Today with the growing acceptance and love for every part of me and all of me, I don’t care where I’m being shot from…I’m no longer scared of anyone seeing that side of me…Truth be told, today not only do I like my right profile,i actually love it…”
