Twitter Users Highlight Darlings Was Called “Anti-Men” But Animal Is Just “Fiction”. The Double Standards!

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has been creating a lot of buzz on the internet. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film’s blockbuster approach on the box office has declared it to be a blockbuster on the big screen. But the misogynistic plot has definitely triggered a lot of women. Speaking about the same, many Twitter users have been accusing the director of disrespectful dialogues in the film, and usage of abuse and foul language towards women.

A twitter account named Neha Kapoor, took it to the micro-blogging site and mentioned–”May a woman do a role like Ranbir’s in Animal and watch none of these men say “it’s just a movie”. We have seen the same people call for boycotts and mock anything they deem “anti-man” or “threat to society”. Only when it matches their worldview it becomes “just a movie”.

She also mentioned the fact how films like Thappad, Darlings, and Barbie, were massively boycotted by men, for their plot. Some men also seemed extremely triggered by Deepika Padukone’s orange bikini in Pathaan. Reacting to this, many others also took her side and shed light on the hypocrisy of men. Some others also said how women protagonists are boycotted for such films, while men showing violence of this degree get away in the name of cinema.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, is receiving a mix bag of reviews from fans, where most women are hating the fact that the director chose to show violence, physical abuse, and cheating on the big screen, and in some ways justified the actions too.
