In a conversation with Siddhaarth Aalambayan AKA The Male Feminist, Mithila Palkar opened up about how someone rubbed against her multiple times when she was travelling in a bus. She said, “It was a really crowded bus. Like many other things, we also normalise the brushing of shoulders or when someone’s hips rub against us when they move past.” She said that she was sitting on a seat and felt that someone was incessantly rubbing against her.

“I was extremely disgusted, and the minute I turned back to see, he disappeared in a flash,” says Mithila. The 30-year-old actress revealed that she has no memory of the guy but she also added that she does not know what she would have done had she seen the guy’s face.

Mithila Palkar also talks about how she could not do anything in that situation because she felt so disgusted. Being unable to take action in a situation like this also points toward how women are conditioned to keep quiet. They are not encouraged to report misbehaviour but instead are told to just keep silent about it.
