Thalapathy Vijay, Wife Sangeetha’s Divorce Hearing Adjourned Till A New Date

The recently elected Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Thalapathy Vijay, is also making headlines for the ongoing turmoil in his private life. A few months back, his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam, had filed for divorce to end their long-running marriage. A court hearing took place on Monday, and according to the latest updates on the same, the court date for the next hearing has been adjourned to August. Read here for more about it.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Divorce Court Hearing Adjourned

For the unversed, Tamil Nadu CM and popular South Indian star Thalapathy Vijay’s wife Sangeetha Sornalingam had filed for a divorce. In the petition, she had reportedly alleged that her husband had an extramarital affair with an actress. According to the latest reports, a court hearing took place on Monday, and both parties were present for the same. Going by the India Today report, the hearing started at 10:30 AM; however, there were no major developments that took place during the hearing. During the recent hearing, the court adjourned the case’s hearing for August 7, as per the reports.

Thalapathy Vijay, Sangeetha Sornalingam Divorce Petition

The two have been married for 27-years. The divorce petition by Sangeetha Sornalingam mentions adultery allegations against Thalapathy Vijay. It mentions that the extra-marital affair was allegedly with an actress, but does not specify any names. As per a Hindustan Times report, the couple also tried resolving their issues between August 2024 and February 2025, but they led to nothing. In the divorce petition, Sangeetha has made strong allegations against her husband and alleged that he had created a hostile environment for her, which led her to live separately.
