Tessa Thompson Drops Hints At Valkyrie’s Queerness, Says “She Will Find Love When Things Are Right”

Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Thor: Love And Thunder. As much as the main character Thor is loved by the audience, the character of Valkyrie also has become a fan favourite. After having debuted in the 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok, the character created a buzz about her sexuality. Well, there is no revelation yet about whether the Valkyrie is a queer character, Tessa Thompson who essays this role has revealed some new details about the same.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Tessa Thompson revealed that Valkyrie’s sexuality was a major point of discussion while making Thor: Love And Thunder. She said that this was a big topic of discussion with Taika Waititi, the director and co-writer of the film. She also said that the audiences want it to be very clear about whether these characters belong to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Adding more, Tessa said that amid Thor, Jane and Korg reuniting to stop Gorr: The God Butcher, there was not much space to explore this side of Valkyrie. But this does not mean that the makers will not touch upon this side of hers at all. Further, Thompson hopes that the fans find Valkyrie relatable. She also said that irrespective of the fact that Valkyrie finds love in the upcoming film, she is still a ‘fabulous’ queer character who is open to the idea of finding love when things fall in place.
