Tara Sutaria Says Paparazzi Always Addresses Actors As ‘Sir’ But Same Respect Is Not Given To Actresses

Now thanks to the super fast and omnipresent paparazzi, we get to know the whereabouts of almost all the celebrities. It is often astounding how these photographers reach almost anywhere they are tipped off about a celebrity’s presence. We as viewers, often watch these videos to know where these actors have been spotted and what were they wearing. But recently, Tara Sutaria drew our attention to a very important thing that had definitely not come to our notice before. She spoke about how the male actors are always addressed as ‘sir’ by the paparazzi but never have the female stars of the same age been addressed with the same respect.

During one of the interviews promoting her upcoming film Ek Villain Returns, she was asked about how male and female actors are not given equal opportunities in films and also her thoughts on pay parity. To this, Tara responded by saying that it is the little things that need to change first. She, then, went on to state the example of how in a lot of the paparazzi videos that she has watched, she noticed how her male contemporary actors are always addressed with the suffix ‘sir’ and an actress of around the same age will never be addressed as ‘ma’am’. Tara Sutaria added that this is because they are not given that respect.

Elaborating more, she said that the female actresses do not want that respect either as they are all very young and do not want to be addressed as ‘ma’am’ or anything else. Tara also said that this reflects how there is a general thinking that a man is greater and must be respected.
