Actress Tamannaah Bhatia once again garnered major attention after the Madras High Court dismissed her plea against a soap brand on Thursday. The actress sought Rs 1 crore compensation after claiming that a soap brand continued using her photo on its products, despite their contract expiring. Details About Tamannaah Bhatia’s Plea
As per media reports, back in 2008, Tamannaah Bhatia had allowed a soap brand to use her picture on it in order to promote its product for one year; the deal ended in October, 2009. However, the O’ Romeo star claimed that the company continued using her images on its product wrappers, advertisements, and online listings from 2010-2011, during which her deal was over with them. She reportedly alleged that this affected her commercial prospects when she was in discussions with other brands. As a result, she sought Rs 1 crore in damages and a permanent injunction restraining the further use of her pictures by the said brand.

Madras High Court Dismisses Her Plea
It’s worth mentioning that previously, Tamnannah Bhatia’s suit was reportedly dismissed by a single judge as credible evidence was not available to support her allegations. On April 16, Thursday, the division bench affirmed the previous findings which led to the dismissal of her plea. It was discovered that the material relied upon by Tamannaah, which includes wrappers, internet listening, and purported purchase documents, were not reliable and that they failed to prove that the soap brand had misused the actress’ pictures.
