Tamannaah Bhatia Says People Have Misunderstood North-South Cinema Debate, Offers A Different Perspective To It

We agree with her!

Indian movies from the south have garnered immense popularity of late with some of their recent releases overtaking Hindi cinematic projects. Fans remain divided about their opinions as to which industry is better – the north or south. The recent raging success of films like RRR and KGF2 has sparked this debate. But actress Tamannaah Bhatia has quashed this debate by saying that all these projects come within the sphere of Indian cinema.

Tamannaah Bhatia’s Inclusive Point Of View

Speaking to Hindustan Times, the Baahubali actress is of the opinion that people have ‘misunderstood’ the whole thing which has led to these differences. She said that it does not matter which part of India the movie comes from as long as it is ‘super authentic’. Tamannaah has credited her change in perspective to Cannes where she made her red carpet debut this year.

Elaborating more, she said that there were many regional films that were being showcased at the Cannes Film Festival but nobody referred to them as ‘south Indian films’ or by any other name. In fact, they were all called Indian films. The 32-year-old also added that when one goes outside, their perspective changes and that ‘breaks’ all the ideas they have here.

Post her debut at the Cannes, Tamannaah has said that she all the more feels like collaborating with different people from across the world. She adds her mind has become more open to the possibility of that. Lastly, she said that our films are now catering for a mass audience when they are being made more inclusive.
