Tamannaah Bhatia is one of those few stars who has successfully established her name in both the South and the Hindi film industry. Since these are two different industries, it’s natural that she has faced different experiences while working. Now, reflecting on them, she spoke about how Bollywood gives more opportunities with roles, whereas the South cinema is more restrictive. Know all about it below!

Tamannaah Bhatia On Working In Both Bollywood And South Cinema!

While conversing with Forbes India, Tamannaah Bhatia shared her take on how female actors are perceived in commercial films across Bollywood and the South film industry. She shared that in the Hindi film industry, there are two kinds of actors. Tamannaah stated that the ones who have a more artistic take on things are better suited to playing certain characters. She explained that they might not necessarily perform a glamorous song-and-dance number. She added that the Hindi film industry provides the opportunity to do either/or, and, according to her, the people who do both inevitably become superstars.

While talking about the South film industry, Tamannaah reflected on understanding why people often described it in certain ways after entering the industry. The actress stated, “Like it’s a very specific gaze. It’s a patriarchal sort of vibe, or it’s a gaze that’s not very complimenting.” The Bahubali star felt that she had understood the musical aspect of it. Tamannaah shared that the South needed that star quality to be able to pull that off, so she personally felt that cinema is more restrictive in that sense. She explained that she was talking from a commercial standpoint. She further stated that her take was entirely based on her experience and that other people may have different experiences. Tamannaah stated that the female actresses who have enjoyed a career spanning 10-15 years have been the ones who have successfully balanced performance-oriented characters with commercial entertainers, including song and dance numbers!
