Taapsee Pannu Recalls Being Obsessed With Achieving Flat Midriff, Urges Women To Embrace Their Bodies. Preach!

Taapsee Pannu recently got real with her followers, sharing how she was obsessed with having a flat midriff. Taapsee Pannu On Her Obsession With Having Flat Midriff

Taapsee Pannu recently took to her Instagram stories and remembered being obsessed because while growing up, she was extremely fit, but she never understood why the lower belly fat always stayed. Taapsee recalled working out intensely, almost to the extent that she overpushed herself. The actress stated that when one overpushes, it rings an alarm in one’s brain that the body needs protection. The Pink star explained to her followers that instead of actually losing water retention, the body starts retaining it and then that lower belly fat, which might actually not just be fat, it’s also water retention, it stays, and it increases by overworking out, which she really believes people should not do.

The actress further highlighted how every woman has a different body. She stated that it cannot look like every other girl, so one needs to accept this. She admitted to accepting it very late after really torturing herself, and then she realised that there are some days it happens and there are some days it doesn’t happen. She recalled her nutritionist Munmun Ganeriwal explaining how it’s actually important to have that little bit of fat, a little bit of water retention under the belly, because that’s where your reproductive organs are, and they need protection, and by virtue of being a woman, one needs that protection. She asked women not to torture themselves just to get those picture-perfect Instagram pictures, adding it’s supposed to be healthy to have that little bit of bulge and have that fat there. She concluded with, “Please don’t torture yourself.”

What She Said Was Really Brave!

What Taapsee Pannu stated should be talked about even more. Since their childhoods, women are taught to have a “perfect” body, neglecting the fact that everyone is different and their bodies function in different ways. The pressure to fit into certain beauty standards can be high, and it can really affect one’s mental health in a bad way. Taapsee sharing her own experience and what she learned from it was truly brave!
