While we’re glad that the makers of this biographical series are bringing us a story of a transgender activist who started a revolution and fought for her rights, we’re also disappointed that they didn’t even think of casting an actual transgender actor for this role. I mean, TBH, we wouldn’t ask a man to play a woman’s role or vice versa, would we? So, why ask a woman to play the role of a transgender? There’s no doubt that Sushmita Sen is a fabulous actor but how can a woman understand a transgender person more than an actual transgender person? Has Bollywood ever wondered that a transgender actor may actually bring much more to the table?
