Ronit Ashra And Mugdha Agarwal On Dating App Culture

Talking about it, Ronit Ashra stated, “I feel dating apps are a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they’re an amazing way to connect with people from all over the world. I mean, you’re literally one swipe away from potentially meeting your soulmate. It’s crazy to think about. But on the other hand, there are some major downsides. Fake profiles, bot accounts, people being dishonest… it’s a real problem. And because of that, you can’t always trust what you’re seeing on these apps. I think that’s why we’ve lost some of the magic of real meet-ups and dates. When you’re meeting someone in person, you get a sense of their energy, their vibe. It’s just a more real experience. But with dating apps, it’s easy to get caught up in the superficiality of it all. If you want to hear more of my thoughts on this, you should totally check out my show. I dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly of dating apps, and it’s a real eye-opener.”

Sharing her opinion, Mugdha Agarwal stated, “I’ve always had a bit of a sceptical view of dating apps. When they first came out, I was in college and just didn’t get the concept of meeting a complete stranger out of the blue. I never felt the need to use them, to be honest. But now, I think they can be really helpful if used correctly. I mean, you get to know someone online, chat with them, talk on calls for a bit, and then eventually meet up. It’s a great way to break the ice and build a connection before taking it to the next level. Of course, with every new invention, there are always some downsides. And I think the cons of dating apps are exactly what we’ve tried to portray in our series. But overall, I think they can be a really useful tool for people looking to connect with others. It’s all about using them responsibly and being genuine. If you’re true to yourself, I think you can really make the most of dating apps and maybe even find something special.”
