Comedian Sudesh Lehri Talks About Having A “Hate Marriage”. A New Term Has Been Added To Our Dictionary!
I feel like as we have gotten more and more influenced by western culture, a lot of people from the recent generations have come to have a pretty negative perception of arranged marriage. However, there are more than enough reasons to see that arranged marriages aren’t all that bad. Comedian Sudesh Lehri has recently spoken about his hate arranged marriage with wife Mamta Lehri.
Sudesh Lehri, who is an actor and comedian well known for his work on The Kapil Sharma show, recently discussed his marriage on Maniesh Paul’s podcast show. Sudesh immediately responded that he had a “hate marriage” when Maniesh asked him if he had a love marriage, which left the RJ found hilarious. For those who don’t know, Sudesh married Mamta Lehri at the age of 16. Sudesh said during his speech at the show that his wife does not speak English and that he is not permitted to make jokes at home. As a result, he uses English as his outlet for frustration.
He also disclosed that his family had set up his marriage. He said that he had a hate marriage because he didn’t fall in love. He further said that he proudly claims that he has had a “hate marriage” and that such marriages can go smoothly too.

The comedian recounted his marriage and made the joke, back in the day, he managed to snag her without incurring too many costs. He then adds that costs have since increased. He also said that he was pretty young when he got married. Lehri said that was performing with an orchestra and it was speculated that he may find love elsewhere. Lahiri said that he informed his family that he wanted to get married after getting frustrated one day.

According to Sudesh, his family took them to a temple where they were married in front of a small group of guests. The comedian jokingly stated in a funny way that his wife would then beat him until he was blue and black because of his remarks in the interview. They laughed heartily together.
After participating in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge III in 2007, Sudesh gained notoriety. The comedian has also appeared in a number of comedic movies and television shows, including Ready, Total Dhamaal, Great Grand Masti, and many others.
