Sima Taparia Accused Of Rejecting Muslim Actor’s Matchmaking Request Over Religion. This Is Silly!

Famous Netflix show Indian Matchmaking star Sima Taparia has finally given a reply to actress Nausheen Ali Sardaar’s claims. For the unversed, the latter accused the former of matchmaking because of her religion. Tapari, more commonly known as ‘Sima Aunty’, builds her brand on finding suitable partners for Indian families across the globe. And she has often been criticised for promoting old-school ideas like adjustment in marriages. Read to know what happened here.

What Sima Taparia Said

Earlier this year, Sima Taparia was accused by Nausheen Ali Sardar of refusing to help her because of her religion. The actress revealed on Siddharth Kannan’s show that her sister had approached the matchmaker after the Netflix show became a hit.  But to her surprise, the reply was, “No, we can’t find you someone because you’re Muslim.” She said that the moment was ‘absurd.’ She was further asked about the allegations in a chat with SCREEN.

Nausheen said that matchmaking ultimately depends on destiny and isn’t something within her control. Recalling an incident from five years ago, she mentioned being approached for matchmaking for a particular community, which she had declined without any ill intent. The matter resurfaced recently, but she took it in stride, saying the publicity that came with it didn’t bother her.

Despite facing criticism online, Sima appears to relish the attention that comes with fame. She seems unfazed by trolling, seeing both positive and negative publicity as part of the game. Having featured on shows like Bollywood Wives and Bigg Boss, she enjoys the recognition and interactions with fans, believing that public scrutiny simply comes with the territory. Having said that, these claims are highly concerning if true.
