Shweta Tiwari Issues An Apology For Controversial Statement On God, Clarifies Who She Was Actually Referring To In Her Remark

In a country like ours, we tolerate almost anything and everything until people start issuing statements about religion. We’re so tightly knitted with religion in our country that we’ll happily side-track an entire conversation to entirely focus on one statement that integrates religion in one way or another. And the same thing happened with Shweta Tiwari at an event. Shweta Tiwari was in Bhopal, promoting her upcoming web series and during the promotion, she said a statement along the lines of God taking her bra measurements. Needless to say, the statement did not sit well with many and a storm broke out on social media ever since. After which the actress issued an apology and clarified that she was talking about her co-star Sourabh Raaj Jain.

On Wednesday, Shweta Tiwari was in Bhopal promoting her upcoming web show called Show Stopper. During the promotions, she said that it was God taking the measurements of her bra. The video of her saying this went viral on social media and people were not happy with it. It was after that the actress issued an apology and clarified that she was talking about her co-star Sourabh Raaj Jain, who previously played the role of Lord Krishna.

Shweta Tiwari further added that when saying “bhagwan”, she was referring to her Show Stopper co-star Sourabh Raaj Jain, who previously had played the character of Lord Krishna in a TV show. In the statement, the actress added, “When put in context, one will understand that the statement in reference to ‘Bhagwan’ was in context with Sourabh Raj Jain’s popular role of a deity. People associate character names to actors and hence, I used that as an example during my conversation with media.”

In all honesty, we as a society are known to take things out of context and then take offence to them. I believe that if only had we seen the entire video then maybe this would have not created the controversy that took over social media.
