Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli Issue Statement After Daughter Vamika’s Images Go Viral, Say “We Were Caught Off Guard”
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have always requested fans and media to allow them some privacy especially their daughter, Vamika. Keeping a safe distance from cameras and social media, the star couple never revealed their daughter’s face and have been fiercely protective about her privacy. But what happened yesterday at the ongoing India-South Africa series, surprised us all and the couple too. A broadcaster of the match panned the camera to the stands and revealed little Vamika’s face who is seen cheering with mom Anushka Sharma for dad, Virat Kohli. Soon after, the clip went viral on social media, with fans of the celebrity couple standing by them, calling it a breach of privacy. And today, hours after the incident, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have finally shared their take. Reiterating their message for fans and media, the couple took to their Instagram handle and shared, “Hi guys! We realise that our daughter’s images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stay the same. We would really appreciate it if Vamika’s images are not clicked/ published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank You!”

While this is definitely, not the first-ever time, that the star couple requested media, to allow them some privacy. Last year a similar incident took place, with paparazzi clicking snapshots of the couple’s daughter. Reacting to which Anushka Sharma had issued an official statement through her social media handle and shared, “We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter.”

Ever since the birth of their baby girl in January last year, the couple have been clear about their stand and also mentioned, “Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support.” Both Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been extremely private about their daughter and rightly so!
