Shreyas Talpade To Play Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee In Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’

In the Kangana Ranaut-starring movie Emergency, actor Shreyas Talpade will play former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the producers revealed on Wednesday. Shreyas Talpade’s first image from Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency has been made public. In the film, he will portray a youthful Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Anupam Kher plays Jayaprakash Narayan, while Kangana plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her film, which she also directed.

On Wednesday, Kangana Ranaut shared Shreyas’s first look from Emergency on Instagram, “Presenting @shreyastalpade27 as Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in #Emergency, a true nationalist whose love and pride for the nation was unparalleled and who was a young upcoming leader during the time of Emergency….”

Shreyas shared a picture of his poster with the well-known poem Kadam Milakar Chalna Hoga by Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Instagram.. He wrote in the caption, “Honoured & Happy to play one of the most Loved, Visionary, a true patriot & Man of the masses…Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. I hope I live up to the expectations. @kanganaranaut thank you for seeing me as Atal ji. You are undoubtedly one of the most talented & versatile actresses of our country but you are an equally good Actor’s Director. It’s time for #Emergency!”

Kangana co-wrote and directed the movie Emergency, which depicts a crucial moment in Indian politics. The script and dialogue for Emergency, which debuted this month, were written by Ritesh Shah, well known for his work on Pink. Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut serve as the film’s producers for Manikarnika Films.
