Sherlyn Chopra Schools Media On How Women Can File Sexual Harassment Case Years After The Incident. She Is Empowering Women!

For the past few days now, Sherlyn Chopra has been headlining the news. First, it was for filing a complaint against the #MeToo accused Sajid Khan, then it was when Rakhi Sawant mocked her for coming out and sharing her experience, and then it was her giving quite the karara jawab to Rakhi Sawant. Now, she is back, grabbing headlines, but this time around she is schooling the people and for that I am grateful. Yes, Sherlyn Chopra speaks to the media and schools them about how the court allows a woman to file a sexual harassment or a sexual abuse case against a person years after the crime has been committed.

On November 2, Sherlyn Chopra takes to Twitter to share a video of her wherein she talks about the Delhi district court judgement in MJ Akbar v/s Priya Ramani which states that a woman can file a sexual harassment or sexual abuse case with the police years after the incident has taken place. Along with the video she shares pictures of the judgement.

In the video, Sherlyn Chopra, who recently filed a molestation case against Sajid Khan, speaks to the media wherein she spreads awareness about how any woman who has been a victim of sexual harassment or sexual abuse of any kind can file a case against the person (or people) years after the incident has taken place. Speaking about her own self, she says that after years she has gotten the to come out in public and file a case against the filmmaker.

Sherlyn Chopra also adds that she along with many other women who are victims of sexual harassment will be standing outside CM Eknath Shinde’s office and requesting him to give them the justice they deserve. Sharing the video along with the pictures of the judgement, she wrote (translated), “A victim woman can raise her voice against the atrocities done to her even decades after the incident and call for justice. Case in point: MJ Akbar v/s Priya Ramani”.

I’m not aware of what actually went down between Sherlyn Chopra and Sajid Khan, that is for the police to investigate, but I do know that I am glad that she came out in public and is spreading awareness about this judgement. There are many women who choose to keep quiet and as years pass by they tend to feel more and more helpless. But this judgement is a ray of hope that empowers the woman to fight her fears and speak about the injustices she faced. Not only talk about it but also get justice.
