For the past few weeks, all we’ve read and heard in news is about the big fat Bollywood wedding. Yepp, I’m talking about the Bhatt-Kapoor union, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s big day. This celeb couple has been making headlines for their upcoming nuptials which seem to be taking place today! Ahead of the big day, actor Shakti Kapoor recalled Ranbir Kapoor’s father and his friend Rishi Kapoor aka Chintu. The actor opened up about how Ranbir is finally fulfilling Rishi Kapoor’s wish while adding that he would have been ‘happy and dancing’.

Speaking about Rishi Kapoor ahead of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding, Shakti Kapoor shared that he feels sad that Chintu is not around to witness the wedding while adding that the later actor would be thrilled about the wedding wherever he is and would be sending blessings for the couple. “I am so glad that Ranbir has not further delayed the wedding, which Chintu wanted to see with his own eyes. But life has to go on. It is the right time for Ranbir to get married now,” Shakti Kapoor told Hindustan Times.

Talking further with the news portal, Shakti Kapoor said that one cannot even imagine how Rishi Kapoor would’ve danced on this day and added that he can picture the late actor wearing a Punjabi safa and standing at the entrance with a smile on his face and be a ‘gracious host’. Recalling the time when Rishi Kapoor was alive, Shakti Kapoor revealed that the actor would always complain about how the kids these days don’t get married referring to Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding. “Chintu said, ‘sahi time pe baache shaadi kyun nahi karte’, and then used to get worried also, saying, ‘waqt kharab chal raha hai, shaadi chalti nahi hai’” the actor told Hindustan Times.

He went on to add that had Rishi Kapoor been alive he would’ve been the happiest today and would’ve driven everyone crazy. Shakti Kapoor further shared that he is in Kolkata and will not be attending the wedding as the family wanted to keep it an intimate affair. He concluded by saying that he is happy that his friend’s wish is finally being fulfilled and Ranbir Kapoor has mentally settled down while adding that Alia and Ranbir make a lovely couple. He wished them happiness.
