Despite Being A Delhite, Sanya Malhotra Says She Feels Safer In Mumbai Than In The Capital City

The Nirbhaya rape case shook the nation and left all women in the city fearing for their lives. The brutality of the case also deemed Delhi unsafe for women. The reputation of the city went downhill after this as women constantly feared for their safety. And I remember, it was precisely after this case that my parents become paranoid about my safety as well, while we are living in Mumbai. Comparisons were also drawn between Mumbai and Delhi regarding which was a safer city. Actress Sanya Malhotra, who is born and raised in Delhi, has said that she feels safer in Mumbai.

Sanya Malhotra Says Mumbai Is Safer

In a conversation with Crime Tak, the Meenakshi Sundareshwar actress revealed that despite hailing from Delhi, there is a ‘good reason’ why she prefers Mumbai over the capital city. She continued by saying that she feels a lot safer in Mumbai. Elaborating more, Sanya Malhotra said that she does not have an idea whether the situation in Delhi has gotten better for women or not.

She further said that there is no particular reason why she feels unsafe in Delhi and that there is no woman in that city who has not been eve-teased. Sanya currently lives in Mumbai in her newly purchased home in Juhu which makes her neighbours with Hrithik Roshan. She is currently promoting her upcoming film HIT: The First Case wherein she has shared screen space with Rajkummar Rao.

Speaking of the film, HIT: The First Case is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film titled HIT. Sailesh Kolanu directed the film and also wrote its screenplay. It is produced by Dil Raju Production and T-Series and also stars Shilpa Shukla, Sanjay Narvekar, Milind Gunaji, Dalip Tahil, and Jatin Goswami essaying important roles. It is set to hit theatres on July 15, 2022.
