Sania Mirza Gets Candid About Motherhood Struggles Post-Divorce From Shoaib Malik

In a chat with Masoom Minawala on her podcast, former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza opened up about the sometimes harsh realities of being a single working mother.  In the podcast, Mirza gave a sneak peek into her life, opening up about the struggles of breastfeeding, societal expectations, and responsibilities as a single parent after divorce with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.

Mirza talked about her experience, revealing that breastfeeding was one of the most difficult parts for her during early motherhood.  She says that it wasn’t the physical strains but rather the emotional and mental aspects that took a toll on her. It was the lack of sleep, time constraints, and building a schedule around feeding that was incredibly challenging for her. She also shared how she thinks that the responsibilities of a mother in raising a child are always more.

Sania also spoke about the guilt she felt when she had to travel for the first time since the birth of her son. Sania had to travel to Delhi for an event just six weeks after the birth of her son and shared her feelings during that journey saying that it was one of the hardest flights that she had to take. Her words resonated with a lot of working mothers who could relate with the tennis star’s feelings.
