In October 2022, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had revealed being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis and it had left all her fans worrying and praying for her. Earlier on Thursday, the Shaakuntalam actress took to Instagram to share that it has been one year since she was diagnosed with the condition and spoke about her battles and struggles as she did her bit to maintain her health.

Sharing a carousel post of pictures from the Church of Saint Sava, located in Belgrade, Serbia, Samantha Ruth Prabhu penned a long note about her Myositis diagnosis and her struggles with it. The actress revealed that it has been a year of “new normal” for her and said that she has been battling her body and is off sugar, salt and grains and has been on a cocktail of medications. She pointed out that she has had forced shutdowns and restarts and has spent the year seeking meaning, introspecting and reflecting upon things.

Speaking about her professional failures, the actress said that it makes everything more interesting. Samantha Ruth Prabhu highlighted that she spend the year praying and doing poojas to seek strength and peace. Highlighting her learnings from the year, the actress said that she has learnt that not everything goes our way all the time and one has to learn that it’s okay when things don’t go our way. Reflecting upon her life, Samantha said that she learnt to control the things that she can and let go of what she can’t and move forward one step at a time. She shared that she learned that life is not always about “grand success” but about how function in itself is a win.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu did not shy away from pointing out that she learnt to not sit and wait for things to be perfect or live in the pain of her past but needs to hold onto love and those she loves instead of allowing hate to take over. Taking a moment to pray for all those who are fighting “harder battles” the actress concluded by saying, “God may delay but never deny.”
